Harriet’s Hope provides affordable housing for individuals who have experienced chronic homelessness or one or more human trafficking events. This community offers safe and secure permanent supportive housing that utilizes community partnerships and resources to meet the needs of human trafficking survivors in Central Ohio.

CMHA ROLE

Harriet’s Hope is an innovative housing project in Columbus providing supportive housing for human trafficking survivors. Spearheaded by the Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA), the project integrates affordable housing with comprehensive recovery services. CMHA’s involvement was crucial, securing funding and public/private partnerships to ensure the project’s success. CMHA also utilized Low-Income Housing Tax Credits for this project. Harriet’s Hope offers a safe, stable environment where residents can access addiction treatment, mental health services and job training, fostering recovery and self-sufficiency. This initiative underscores CMHA’s commitment to addressing housing instability and improving community well-being through targeted support and inclusive housing solutions.
